Control Board

Postby gracieb3 on Mon Feb 08, 2010 6:14 pm

I just purchased a new control board on 1.24.10. We just had a power surge and it sent the stove in to the cool down phase. I tried to use the reset condition #2 Holding the up heat (Red) arrow for a minimum of 15 seconds. This did not work. I allowed the stove to complete the cool down so I could start from the beginning. When I begin the startup phase, it acts like it is starting the phase then after 10 seconds it goes into a fault phase. At that point, I have to unplug it for several seconds then plug it back in so it will start/complete the cool down phase. This takes place a couple of times before I can start the stove. Is there something wrong with the control board? The dealer we purchased our stove from is no longer a dealer. Any suggestions.

Hi gracieb3,
If you unplug the stove and let the control board drain maybe it will reset the board. The power surge could have damaged the board. You can have your board tested, either by a technician near you or the factory.

We had a power surge and lost the control board. We purchased a new board and if the power flickers the stove will shut down. When you hit the up button and hold it will not return to the burn phase. We were advised if you hold the up and down button together, it would return to the burn phase. It does not. When the unit cools down and shuts off and you go to start it all the lights will start flashing. Then we unplug the unit and plug it back in, it will go thru a cool down mode. It will do this several times then it will finally act normal and start. I am thinking that this control board that we just purchased from you is defective. Thanks for the help

Hi gracieb3,
You should have your stove attached to a surge protector so when you electricity is fluctuating it will not disrupt the stoves performance. The stove does need to be on its own circuit and have constant voltage.
