How often should fan kick on?

Postby kunescious on Wed Jan 13, 2010 9:05 pm

This is my second winter with the stove. So far I have not been able to heat my first floor (~800 sq.feet) more than 68 degrees, which is the only floor of the house being heated with the magnum. Had service man out here, and judging by ash color and cleanliness, he determined we are probably getting the max btu's out of the thing, but just cannot distribute the heat correctly. There is no doubt the heat is being lost out of the exhaust, but I cannot figure out why. I am wondering if the fan is waiting too long to kick on, causing the heat to be lost. On a heat setting of 3, how often should I expect the blower to kick on?

Hi kunescious,
What is your static pressure? Who installed your furnace? Is your furnace hooked up to a thermostat?
