OK, thanks for the good info ... though now I need to remove the auger motor; I've also reached my dealer and with your info and their helping me narrow this down, we've determined that the auger stopped turning due to a bad/failed auger motor. My dealer has a replacement motor for me, however, I cannot get the old one off! Very frustrating, and I cannot find any technical documents that explain how to do this (and my dealer is closed this afternoon). I've removed the side & back panels on my Magnum 3500L (Countryside), and using a proper allen wrench I've fully loosened the set screw on the auger collar so that is spins freely and slides without any friction from the auger assembly. However, I cannot pull the auger out so that I can pop the bad auger motor off at the back of the stove. What am I missing? ... what is the secret to pulling out the auger and removing the motor? Thanks in advance for any further info you can offer.
Lastly, if I ever get the auger motor off, what caulking needs to be replaced on/around the auger motor? I see some reference to this in other posts on this forum, and I have some high-temp (500 degree) black caulk that I used for sealing seams on the exhaust pipe. However, I wouldn't want to gunk-up any of the auger motor works with caulking that shouldn't be there, and I surely don't see any caulking on/around the auger motor. What caulking needs replacing ... what are these posts referring to? Again, thanks in advance.
