air wash

I read on the posts for the baby magnum that someone had blocked off a portion of their air wash and got a better burn. Is it ok for us to do that on the 3500 magnum? Has anybody tried it? what kind of results?

Hi cosmojvlff,
Blocking off the air wash will not hurt the appliance in any way. The unit will actually gain efficiency and burn. Customers as a rule want as clean of glass as possible. We recommend leaving about 1/16" to 1/8th inch slit open to give the glass a little wash. This will still leave more air for the fire. Good luck and good burning.

Can an air wash kit be installed on an older countryside stove that didn't come with one?

Hi Fornesst,
All countryside that we are building at this time have a airwash welded on however the older models have a airwash mounted to the door and some of them have a adjustable airwash.
